Planning an elopement in Paris during the pandemic crisis

Since February 2020, the entire world has drown itself into a huge pandemic crisis due to the Covid-19. Everything from this moment has been changed: our freedom to travel, to go to a show, to work and even to walk in the city without any protection or to visit our family and friends. Planning an elopement seems to be impossible…

However, we have to be optimistic for the future as all the countries are talking about the vaccine and how we are going to win this huge world battle against the virus.

Proposal Paris Gastronomic Dinner

Paris… A ghost town!

While, before the pandemic crisis, we were looking about public spaces without too much crowd in Paris. Now, Paris has been cleared out of every tourists. Seing the city without tourists can be very beautiful but also very sad… We miss you here in Paris!

Even so, as the vaccine is being prepared and France is being cured of the virus slowly but surely… Let’s have a first look about all the public spaces that you can choose for your public venue for your symbolic ceremony for your elopement in Paris during this pandemic crisis.

Incredible calm public venues

If you want to get married near the Eiffel Tower is maybe the best moment to travel to Paris. Indeed, we have been talking about the Trocadero perfect space for your ceremony in front of the Eiffel Tower. Before the crisis, the number of tourists was so high that it wasn’t possible to plan it in “normal hours”. You were able to do it but before 7am or after 9pm.

Now, or at least this year, without tourists you can have the Trocadero for you to plan a ceremony in front of the Eiffel Tower. Take advantage and plan an intimate elopement in Paris during this pandemic crisis.

And, if you prefer to plan your elopement in a private venue, you will not have to wait a year or more to book your wedding date. The agendas of such venues are.. empty or almost!

You will have the chance to get married in Paris for an outdoor wedding in our beautiful parks. In front of the Eiffel Tower, near the Seine for a romantic walk, in the garden of a museum… Paris has a lot of beautiful gardens for your elopement. Or what about a cruise through the Seine to exchange your vows and enjoy one of the most romantic dinner in Paris?

elopementmontmartre2

If you are more for indoor weddings, we will be able to propose you a lot of beautiful indoor venues such as only Paris has: , a typical French private Mansion, a Parisian room, a room with a library, a private room in a gastronomic restaurant…

Paris has the venue for you…

Getting married in Paris during the restrictions

Yes, getting married right now in another country is more difficult than anything… But yes, it is possible.

It is possible because the virus is less important than it could be a few months ago. However we have to take some precautions for your elopement.

Depending on which country you are coming from, you will have to pass the PCR test to be able to enter in France. If you are not sick, that would not be a big problem.

Until today, you won’t be able to plan a big wedding in Paris. For now, wedding are not allowed. That should changed from February/March – to be confirmed by the government – but we can hope to plan elopements for this Summer 2020.

Also, it is going to be the best moment to enjoy Paris and to get married in Paris. Why? Because you will have Paris for you both to plan a perfect and intimate wedding. The intimacy will be perfect for your romantic ceremony too.

Let’s do it, as agreed with what the governments will decide in the next few months, to enjoy our incredible City of Love for your elopement in Paris with Getting Married in Paris!

Why having a symbolic ceremony is the best way to get married in Paris?

Why getting married in Paris?

engagement-photoshoot-dvvevents- getting married in paris 57

Let’s answer to this important question: why getting married in Paris? Why everybody is so in love with Paris? Well, well… Because it is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. I am not telling you that because I am Parisian and I love my city.

Paris has incredible monuments known all around the world such as the Eiffel Tower or the Sacré Coeur, if I have to name two of them. These places are important and very visited but they are also intimate venues all around them. We already planned an incredible elopement with first views over the Eiffel Tower keeping some privacy for the ceremony.

wedding Eiffel Tower - get married in Paris
Amber & Ryan’s wedding near the Eiffel Tower

Paris has full of venues depending on what you want to plan for your ceremony. If you want to plan it near a big monument such as the Eiffel Tower, a park as the Buttes Chaumont or the Tuileries park, a dock to have a complete view over the Seine, an arty venue such as the outside of the Palais de Tokyo,… Of course, I am talking about all free venues because you have much more venues all very different if you have some budget for your ceremony’s venue.

What is a symbolic ceremony?

A symbolic ceremony is maybe the most personal and easy way to get married in Paris. The symbolic ceremony is a ceremony which has no value for the Administration. That is to say you will have to get married “officially” in your own country or in France – but for this option, you will have to prove that you are living in France for example.

A symbolic ceremony can be prepared by yourselves, a friend, a member of your family or a celebrant as me. It is the actual alternative to all religious ceremony or civil ceremony.

In your symbolic ceremony, you will have the complete liberty to plan everything: from your enter in the ceremony to the vows (or not) without forgetting the choice of your ceremony’s venue,… You will be able to choose each element of the ceremony, each text, each song if you want or not,… One word for the symbolic ceremony: L-I-B-E-R-T-Y!

Why having a symbolic ceremony in Paris?

Congratulations! You have decided to plan a symbolic ceremony for your wedding. But why Paris for the symbolic ceremony?

elopementmontmartre2
Our beautiful couple for their elopement near the Sacré Coeur – Montmartre

As I told you earlier, having your ceremony in Paris is the choice of the romanticism… Don’t forget that Paris is the City of Love <3 And it is a well-deserved reputation! It can be an elopement or a small wedding, a bigger wedding or a surprise for your loved-one too.

A symbolic ceremony gives us the opportunity to choose the venue of your choice even if we have to be careful. For example, if you want to plan an outdoor ceremony, there will be a limitation of number of guests if you wish to do it in a public space. As a matter of fact, for security reason, it will not be possible to plan it for more than 15 guests. If you are more than 15, it will be easier and safer to plan it in a private venue… You would not like to have the Police invited to your ceremony, right? 😉

Get married in Paris: an Eiffel Tower wedding

get married in Paris

Today, it is the first snow in Paris… So I want to write you about Amber and Ryan small wedding in Paris when the weather was still sunny. They got married near the Eiffel Tower for a romantic sunny day!

Amber and Ryan came from the United States for their destination wedding in Paris. We had been planning and preparing their beautiful day since a few months. Paris had welcome them with an incredible sunny day, perfect conditions for their ceremony near the Eiffel Tower.

wedding Eiffel Tower - get married in Paris

The first contact with DVV Events…

As you may know, a lot of our clients contact us through our blog Getting Married in Paris; that’s the best way to start your destination wedding planning with me. And that’s what Amber and Ryan did. They send us a message through our blog and that’s how the adventure began.

A wedding with the Eiffel Tower as the special guest

Amber and Ryan had one leading word: the Eiffel Tower. They really wanted to have the Eiffel Tower as a special guest of their wedding in Paris and maybe as their main witness.

Getting Married in Paris - Eiffel Tower

Their main idea was to have a beautiful ceremony with views over the Eiffel Tower. As they will be only few guests, the idea of having the ceremony outside was possible if the weather will have been clever with us. To protect the wedding, we decided to plan their outside ceremony with a second option in case of rain. September is one of the most beautiful month to get married in Paris (less crowd, still beautiful weather,…) and we had the chance to plan their ceremony in a secret spot in the Eiffel Tower garden itself! A private spot with a lot of intimacy which was perfect for their wedding in Paris. We had an incredible view over the Eiffel Tower as we were just behind the Parisian monument. What else could we ask?

Kiss Paris - Get married in Paris

A beautiful wedding reception in a private mansion…

After this beautiful and sunny ceremony and after taking some pictures in the docks for example, it was time to discover the wedding venue chosen by our couple for their wedding dinner in Paris.

Amber and Ryan fall in love with a private mansion very near the Eiffel Tower and a special room of this venue. The venue is composed of several rooms, a restaurant and a beautiful garden. In our first idea with the couple, we wanted to plan the ceremony in the garden of the venue. However, the garden’s venue didn’t have a real view over the Eiffel Tower. That’s why, Amber and Ryan had skipped this idea and planned their ceremony in the Eiffel Tower garden.

Their wedding room was a beautiful wedding room with a typical Parisian style decoration and an incredible candelabra which illuminated the place. Amber and Ryan wanted to have a big rectangular table with a lot of flowers and candles. Thanks to our florist designer Reflets Fleurs, we planned an incredible scenography for their dinner shot by Rosina Prod.

Each guest had the opportunity to choose their own menu before the wedding to enjoy as much as possible the wedding dinner in Paris.

We had an incredible time with Amber and Ryan planning their destination wedding in Paris and they were absolutely gorgeous and very in love in our City of Love…

What about you?

If you are planning to get married in Paris, don’t hesitate a second. Paris has a lot of possibilities for your elopement or wedding.

Alison and Teddy’s Elopement in Paris

Alison & Teddy Elopement Paris

We would like to present you the elopement of Alison and Teddy, coming from New Orleans to Paris to celebrate their love in front of one of the most symbolic monument in Paris: the Eiffel Tower. Here is the story of their dream elopement in Paris…

Alison & Teddy elopement in Paris 2© Zoé Psaroudaki

The first contact with our team, DVV Events

Teddy contacted us through the blog because he wanted to make his wife’s dream come true. For his proposal, he knows Alison was so in love with Paris and the Eiffel Tower that he wanted to make it in front of the Eiffel Tower… But he did it in front of a small Eiffel Tower!

He decided to take her to Paris to elope in a very romantic trip to Paris. He needed our help to plan the perfect moment and to be the closest to the Eiffel Tower. We worked with him and then with Alison too to find the perfect place for their ceremony. The Eiffel Tower gardens were the best place to make it: they will be very close to the Eiffel Tower and we tried to find a place where we will be able to plan a ceremony with some privacy. As you may know, all the pictures you can see on Facebook or Instagram with the couple and the Eiffel Tower only, with no tourist, are taken very early in the morning, before 7 or 8 am!! As our Couple was coming from London and with a little bit of jet lag because of their trip from New Orleans, that option wasn’t possible of course. They decided to plan it between 5 and 6 pm and we found THE perfect place!

Alison & Teddy Elopement Paris© Zoé Psaroudaki

Their trip to Paris and the Elopement Day!

Alison and Teddy arrived the same day of the elopement by Eurostar from London. Alison wanted to take care of her own bouquet and the buttonhole of her husband (We love when the Couple decide to  do their own accessories, it becomes a very personalize wedding!) We had to plan a meeting for Alison’s hair but it was a Monday and as you may know, on Mondays, a lot of hairdressers are closed  in France but even more when it’s a public holiday day! Challenge accepted and Alison had her meeting, she was very happy with it!

We met with Teddy in front of the Eiffel Tower to choose the best place between the 2 places they had chosen.  We met also with Zoé, from Picturing Love, our lovely photographer <3 and we were all waiting for the bride to be who want to come with her friend. The moment was precious: Alison came with tears in her eyes while Teddy was making his best smile which said ” I am the most lucky man in the world”. Their happiness and love was so present that we all cried during the ceremony!!

Alison & Teddy elopement in Paris© Zoé Psaroudaki

After their ceremony, Zoé took them to a shooting near the Eiffel Tower and the Carrousel in front of the Trocadero. We made a reservation to the gorgeous Restaurant Monsieur Bleu with incredible views over the Eiffel Tower and the Seine… It was an incredible elopement for them but for us too!

Here are some words of Teddy after their elopement in Paris with DVV Events:

8 Tips to Get Married in Paris

Today, we are going to share with you 8 tips to get married in Paris. A lot of you have asked us to give you some advices to get married in Paris and as Santa Claus came a few weeks ago, this is our gift! Don’t hesitate to comment and to share with us your other questions <3

1 – Choose a district in Paris

Our first advice: if you want to fully enjoy your wedding day in Paris, we advise you to choose a particular location in Paris. It is possible to get married in Montmartre and then, have your wedding lunch or dinner near Notre-Dame for example. But you will lose time in traffic, waiting for your wedding car and if you have guests, waiting for them,… We suggest you choose a district in Paris, the one you are in love and to enjoy each moment in it. A Parisian district is still an important part of Paris and you will find a lot of different locations, parks, venues, small streets,… for your ceremony, your lunch/diner and your shooting too!

8 tips to get married in Paris 3

2- Be careful with your wedding’s date

Indeed, this tip can seem too easy but let’s talk about it. Paris is a big city with a lot of small events and big events. Maybe an event will take place at your ceremony’s place which will have a big consequence on your D-Day.

Also, in France, each season has its own price. If you want to lower your budget, you should plan your ceremony during winter for example because venues, as they are less weddings as in summer, will give you a cheaper price for the rent. As well, they are some days during the year that are really more expensive than the others in the same season. For example, the New Year Eve. It is one of the most beautiful day of the year in Paris. However, all the vendors will ask you expensive or very expensive prices for the different services. If you want to take your budget lower, the date of your wedding is an important point.

3- Most of the venues in Paris have their own caterer

While you will be looking after your venue, you will notice that in Paris a lot of venues have their own caterer. You will only have the choice to choose your menu, so be careful! Don’t hesitate to look on social media if the caterer has good reviews. Having a wonderful venue is important but having an excellent dinner can be one of the most important part of your wedding.

Also, if you have a precise budget, some of the times, the caterer of the most beautiful places has expensive menus. Before signing with those places, ask for different menus to be sure their caterer will answer to your ideal menu.

8 tips to get married in Paris 2

4- Wines and Champagne

Yes, we could have talk about this in the caterer’s point. But we have decided to separate it. Why? Because you can decide to buy your own wines and champagne with some caterers. A part of them won’t accept to let you buy your alcohol drinks, even more if you have rent a restaurant or a hotel. Some other will apply what we called a “droit de bouchon” which is a tax on each bottle that will be served. It can be around 8 to 20€ per bottle!
Hopefully, you have caterers who will allow you to choose and buy your own wines and Champagne. Because, yes, we think that the couple has to have the possibility to choose each service of their wedding.

5- Sleeps for your guests

If you are planning a destination wedding, you will have to find sleeps for your guests so it will be easy for them to plan their trip to Paris. Also, they will be more relax if you give them the name of the hotel where everybody is going to stay.

In Paris, there are only a very few places where your guests will be able to sleep. We recommend you look for an hotel or a villa for your accommodation.

6- Dancing Party

In Paris, venues have restrictions about music. Most of the venues will propose you a rental until midnight or 2 am. If you want to have a big party, be careful with this point! Some of the Parisian venues will propose you to plan your party until 4 or 5 am with extra hours. The price will depend on each venue but the price of an extra-hour can start at 200€ to 800€ for example.
However, if you have a restricted budget for the venue, you can also decide to go on the suburbs of Paris where they are a lot of incredible venues too!

7- The Bridal Dress

If you have bought your bridal dress, the first question will be: “how will I transport my bridal dress?”. You have two possibilities. You can transport it in its slipcover with you in the cabin. The dress will be protected but it can be heavy if you have a voluminous dress. On the other hand, you can decide to transport it in a luggage. The dress will be protected and will only have to ask at your hotel for example to prepare it at their pressing service.

However, you can decide to buy it in Paris because we have a lot of different dress boutiques. This option can be a good idea but you have to come to Paris a few months before the wedding because you have to order it and make the dress be altered. Also, what about rent it in a dress boutique? It can be a very good option if you don’t want to travel with your dress!

8 tips to get married in Paris

8- Your Wedding-Planner

But if you want one advice, it will be this one: planning you destination wedding in Paris is a very important task. You will need the expertise and savoir-faire of a Parisian wedding-planner. You will be more relax during the planning and your D-Day will be as perfect you dreamed it! Don’t hesitate to contact us to talk about your wedding project in Paris, we will be delighted to help you!

Wendy and Aaron: their trip to Paris to prepare their wedding

September 7th 2018…

Two beautiful souls are going to plan their wedding in Paris and we have the honour to help them to prepare one of the most beautiful day of their lives. Sabrina will also be the celebrant of their ceremony so we are even more excited about it!

Wendy and Aaron decided to send us an e-mail after visiting our blog “Getting Married in Paris”. They were looking for a wedding-planner in Paris as they really want to plan their destination wedding in Paris, a city they love so much. We had send them our proposal for their wedding and they have decided to give us their trust… What an incredible trip together!

wedding in Paris Wendy and Aaron 4

They planned a trip to Paris last September to meet us and to visit all their providers and taste the caterer of course (one of the best moment of the planning… French gastronomy and wines…. Yummmmyyyy). It was really a good idea to plan this trip a year before their wedding because we had the opportunity to have the same conditions as it will be for their real wedding such as the weather (even if it is a little bit unpredictable in France and even more in Paris), the places with turists, …  If you have the opportunity to plan a trip to Paris even if it is months before, it is always a good idea. However, if you don’t have time to come to Paris, don’t worry… The surprise of your wedding in Paris will be even more amazing!

Wendy and Aaron have always been in love with Notre-Dame-de-Paris… How not to be in love with this place? The romanticism of the monument and its beautiful park, the Seine crossing the place and the little Isle called “Ile de la Cité” is so Parisian!

wedding in Paris Notre Dame

The day after their arrival, we have started to visit the wedding venues because the venue will decide the caterer. As you may know, in Paris, some places have their own caterers and some other not. The places that Wendy and Aaron have decided to visit have their own caterers as they were restaurants or private mansions. After two visits, they decided to stop the visits! Why? They have found their perfect venue for their wedding in Paris: a very cosy, gorgeous and Parisian restaurant with views over Notre-Dame-de-Paris and the district. The caterer was then the restaurant itself: a gastronomic typical French food and wines and champagne for their guests, to make them discover Paris… Also, a pianist will play during their cocktail: they fall in love with this idea of having some beautiful music played by a Professional pianist with a glass of a Champagne in one hand and a petit-four of Foie Gras on the other hand. What an incredible day they had and we had some much fun with them because as we always say: Planning your destination wedding in Paris has to be fun too!

You will ask me about the ceremony venue? The park of Notre-Dame will be the perfect place to celebrate their love of course 🙂

As the planning of the visits has been canceled because they found THEIR perfect place, we have time to meet their photographer in Paris. What they weren’t expected is that their photographer will start taking photos of them in Paris! It was not a sunny day but we had incredible views over the Eiffel Tower to not lose the day! Aren’t they gorgeous and happy?

Your symbolic ceremony in Paris… Wait, a what?

wedding in Paris

You may have heard about symbolic ceremonies for weddings or elopements. Since a few years, the symbolic ceremony is becoming the new trend in ceremonies for couples who want to customize their wedding but also their ceremony. The religious ceremony is now competing with the symbolic ceremony as the civil ceremony is still mandatory to officially be considered as married. How can you plan your symbolic ceremony in Paris?

What is it exactly a symbolic ceremony?

Before the arrival of the symbolic ceremony, there was only two choices: the civil ceremony and the religious ceremony.

The civil ceremony is mandatory to be officially considered as married. You have to get married in the City Hall of the city where you live even if some exceptions exist. For example, if you want to get married in Paris and you have no parents living in the city or one of you both, you won’t be able to get married in Paris with a civil ceremony. In France, you have to be living in the city where you want to get married (or a very close parent). If not, your application will be refused.

The religious ceremony is possible in Paris of course. However, you will have to follow a big preparation and you will have to be in contact with your religious referent in your country such as in France. It can be a long preparation with a lot of stuff to prepare and send.

That’s why we think the symbolic ceremony is a very good option if you want to get married in Paris with a ceremony which looks like you. The symbolic ceremony has no value but you can plan it as you want and where you want. You have a complete liberty to create your own texts, your own vows too. If you want to enter with an AC-DC music, you can! If you want your doggy to bring the rings, you can! If you want your grandma to have a dance with your witnesses, you can too! LOL 🙂 You have a complete freedom to create the structure, the texts, the songs, the pictures and videos if you want,… of your symbolic ceremony.

Who can be your officiant?

symbolic ceremony in paris 2

With the symbolic ceremony, you have also the opportunity to choose your officiant. Here are your two options:

  • You can choose a professional celebrant. He will guide you step by step in the construction of your ceremony. He will help you to write your vows if you need it and introduce you the several rituals, invent one with you if you want – as the ceremony is yours, you can also decide to not do any ritual. Sabrina is our celebrant. She will guide you in every step and make sure you create the perfect ceremony. To have a range of price, to be guided by our celebrant will cost you from 696€. (- If you want to contact her -)

  • You can choose a close relative or friend: because you know exactly who can relate your love story. He or she is that friend who knows everything about you both, who supports you during the hard moments and has an incredibly talent to speak in front of a public. Yes, this moment must be a beautiful for you three, take care of your officiant, choose an officiant who don’t have any problem with speaking to a public. You also can find a professional celebrant who can coach your officiant for the ceremony.

Your symbolic ceremony in Paris… where?

symbolic ceremony in paris

Paris is full of surprises, your symbolic ceremony in Paris could take place wherever you want. We have already talked about places for a ceremony in Paris in an article a few weeks ago – the perfect place for your ceremony in Paris – but let’s have a reminder…

First of all, you have all the important monuments which are perfect places to plan your ceremony in Paris. The Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero, the Louvre and its gardens, the so romantic district of Montmartre with the Sacré Coeur, the wonderful Notre Dame,…. These places are gorgeous but you will have to deal with the crowd, so if you can do your ceremony early that would be better. If not, don’t be afraid, there is always a good spot with less crowd in each important place.

You can also plan your ceremony in one of the parks of the city. We have the chance to have beautiful parks and some near the most important places in Paris. What about the Tuileries Gardens for your ceremony near the Louvre? Or the chapel of the incredible Buttes Chaumont’s park?

Another place which can be so romantic are the Seine docks. You will find docks in a big part of the City because the Parisian river, the Seine, crosses a big part of the city.If you want to plan your ceremony during the day and you don’t want to deal with all the tourists (we love them but we don’t want them to get invited to the ceremony :-D), you will find perfect docks with intimate spots. What about planning your ceremony with views over the City and with the romanticism bring by the river?

Now… Are you ready to plan the most beautiful symbolic ceremony in Paris?

3 reasons why you should get married in Paris…

Paris or not Paris… “Destination wedding” is one of the most important trend of the wedding market. The principle is simple: you decide to get married in another country only you both for an elopement or with your guests for a wedding. But where do you want to get married? There are so many countries, cities and places in the world where a wedding can be celebrated… However, as Parisian ambassadors, we think that Paris is the best place to get married for a destination wedding or an elopement. Here are the 3 reasons why you should get married in Paris, voilà!

Paris is romance

get married in Paris 3

As you know, Paris is called the City of Love for a good reason. Everything in the City inspires love. Couples coming from all around the world are planning their shooting, their engagement session (such as Flavie and Taro), their proposal, their elopement or their wedding in Paris because Paris is Love.

Paris is as romantic as in every movies and TV shows in where your favourite characters get married or just have a trip in the City. You can obviously get kissed and plan your ceremony in an outside place without a Parisian fixing a gaze on you!

In a park, all over the Seine, near the Eiffel Tower (even if it sounds cliché, the place is absolutely stunning!),… The City will show you why there is not another city which can be named “the City of Love” than Paris.

Paris is gastronomy

The French gastronomy is well-known all over the world. In Paris, a lot of “Chefs” are famous for their excellent food. A lot of caterer in Paris will propose you menus created by important Chefs in Paris so you can have the most delicious food for your wedding lunch or diner.

Who has never heard someone talking about those delicious French wines and Champagne? If you are a wine-lover, Paris is your place to get married. Your caterer will propose you the perfect wines and Champagne according to your menu of course.

Also, Paris is the pastry-land! 🙂 Croquembouche, fraisier, mille-feuille, tarte au citron meringuée,… are some of the big names of the very famous pastries. Your dessert will be the reflection of the Parisian gastronomy. Your guests will be amazed with the perfect pastry to end your wedding lunch/diner.get married in Paris

Paris is architecture

Thanks to its history, Paris has a gorgeous old-architecture. The buildings have a really particular Haussmann- architecture who was a very important prefect during the XIXth century in Paris. The Parisian buildings are well-know all over the world. You will be able to rent a private mansion for your ceremony or your wedding.

You will also enjoy the differents parks of the City where you can easily plan your ceremony. In France, the parks are public spaces so there will be no problem for you to plan a beautiful ceremony. However, you won’t be able to rent a part of the park for your ceremony. If you need music or sound during your ceremony, you will have to ask for an authorization (you will find more information in our ceremony in Paris’s article).

get married in Paris 2

The iconic places of the City are also part of the wonderful architecture. The most iconic attractions such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, the district of Montmartre (one of the most romantic district in Paris, maybe the most romantic),… are famous all over the world. You can’t find another monument which will inspire you more romanticism and love. In addition to the most important monuments, you will also enjoy the romantic cafés and the “passages” which are small passageways between two streets. They are most of the time very intimate and romantic!

Paris is full of surprises… You will be spellbound with the Parisian wedding venues, outside places for your photoshoot and ceremony, its gastronomy,… You want to learn more about it?

Your Elopement in Paris – Getting Married in Paris

ceremony in Paris 2

It’s official… You are getting married! But your dream wedding isn’t a wedding with guests, planning a big celebration and having diner with your guests… You just want to get married with your one-love, eyes in the eyes without any guests but only you two. How to do it? Is it possible to get married only you both? Of course it is… And we call it an elopementElopement in Paris.

A… what?

An elopement… What is exactly an elopement? It’s a wedding with only the bride and the groom. This new tendency of the wedding market is growing a lot since a few years. A lot of couple want to get married most of the time in another country or city without any guests, just both of them.

First of all, an elopement is maybe one of the most romantic way to get married. You are going to travel with your better-half to celebrate the love between you both. No guests, no big diner, no big wedding planning, just a celebration of your love and a lunch or a diner for you both, eyes in the eyes. It will be your own secret, your romantic getaway!

The elopement can be also a good idea if you don’t want to spend a lot of money in your wedding. You will be able to plan the wedding of your dream without spending 10 000-20 000€ or more, money you should have spent if you were planning a wedding with guests. For an elopement, we can say you will spend between 20 and 30% over what you will have to spend for a big wedding.

Maybe are you afraid telling to your close relations that they won’t be invited to your wedding because you are going to plan an elopement. You will have to explain them why you are planning an elopement instead of a big wedding. To make everyone happy, you can plan a post-wedding party to celebrate your wedding with your family and friends. It can be a good idea to balance an elopement and a party with your close family and relations for example, less bigger than a big wedding but as important as a celebration with your loved-ones.

Why chosing Paris for your elopement

The City of Love is one of the best places to plan your elopement. It is well-known that Paris is the City of the romanticism and love, a perfect place for your elopement.

We will have a lot of possibilities for your ceremony venue. You can select one of the incredible outside places such as parks and gardens: the Tuileries, the Luxembourg Park, the Buttes Chaumont Park and a lot more… They are perfect places for a green outside ceremony. All Parisian parks have a spot with intimity to plan your ceremony.

For an outside ceremony, the Seine docks can be a good place to have a spot with a lot of romanticism but also with great views over the City. There are also a lot of gorgeous bridges which can be very beautiful places even if you will have to be careful with the crowd. The Bir Hakheim is, for example, a bridge without cars and with a wonderful view over the Seine and the Eiffel Tower.

Then, Paris is full of wonderful and very famous monuments and places: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvres, the Champs-Elysees, the Concorde Place, the Trocadero,… All of these places are perfect places for a romantic and Parisian ceremony but you should be careful with the crowd, you don’t want them to ruin your intimate ceremony 😉 However, if you don’t want to deal with it, you can choose an outside place with an incredible view over your favorite place in Paris: what about a balcony with views over the Eiffel Tower?

You will have also the possibility to choose an inside place. Parisian architecture is amazing. Paris will offer you an intimate room in a private mansion or an hotel to celebrate a romantic ceremony. You can also rent a place with a balcony or a rooftop to have incredible views over the City of Love.

After your romantic ceremony, you can have lunch or diner at a restaurant in Paris. The gastronomy and wines/champagne are wonderful in France, so enjoy it for your elopement in Paris. You can have the possibility to have your lunch/diner in a private room to have a complete intimity during your meal… Un dîner aux chandelles s’il vous plaît?
